Branded Lanyards – woven lanyards – what you need to know

Best prices and NEED TO KNOW information on Branded Lanyards and more specifically Woven Lanyards, including high resolution images, how woven logo’s really look like!

Hi Guys and Girls!

We at Gifts and Gadgets, we love making business transparent, and those who are following us will know by now, that we are using this blog to promote, BUT more importantly, and I feel that I can proudly say so, to REALLY inform our customers on the do’s and the don’ts of promotional products.

I already wrote  an in depth post on how different branded lanyards look like with different prints on them, but I did not had the images of the woven lanyards available at that time. I did though, get all my material from production this week, hence this post specifically on WOVEN LANYARDS, and what you can expect from a woven lanyard, but more importantly what you should not expect of a woven lanyard!

Most likely you are wondering now, why I am emphasizing ‘ what not to expect from a woven lanyard’. Well, there’s a thing or two you should know before purchasing woven lanyards, and that’s what I  am about to show you now, but first some background information.

Of all the branded lanyards available, woven lanyards differentiate themselves from all other lanyards in a very specific way:  Woven lanyards are not printed! The required branding of the lanyards is actually woven into the Jacquard fabric of the lanyard – using the Jacquard loom system – and is therefore an integral part of the fabric itself. The  advantages of this process are obvious : A woven logo will NEVER come of, and is as durable as the woven lanyard itself, which is well…  like really,  really durable! 🙂

But as often is the case, there is a also a negative side to this process, and in the case of woven lanyards, the saying becomes quite literally!

As you will see in the close-up pictures below, the backside of woven lanyards is literally a negative of the front side, meaning, the colors are reversed, AND all writing and images are mirrored, meaning that, if there is a branding policy in place in your company, then this particular attribute of woven lanyards, might just be the deal-breaker. Purchasers, watch out for this one thus!

This being said, we do have a solution available for this issue,  in the form of  Double Layer Woven Lanyards, but this, we will discuss  in another post!

Although this phenomenon might be a real issue  for some companies, for those without strict branding policies, it is  good to know that all our woven lanyards are obviously looped in such a way that the front side will automatically be the side that will be visible when wearing the lanyard. Check the image below:

Loop of the lanyard ensures that the front side of the lanyard is showing when wearing the lanyard

The second thing one needs to take into consideration when opting for woven lanyards is,  that due to fact that the artwork is being woven into the fabric, woven lanyards ARE BOLD!

When you are looking at a message with a lot of small details, then DON’T GO FOR WOVEN LANYARDS! Small detail will look like one big blob and also,  all diagonal lines in the design will look more or less jagged.

Although we now offer SMOOTH WOVEN LANYARDS, which allow already much more detail, my motto is still, WOVEN LANYARDS are for BOLD, RUGGED  messages. If your artwork does not qualify for this simple criteria, then I advise my customers to go to another type of lanyard such as screen printed lanyards or dye sublimated lanyards and I have been thanked for the advise over and again!

All of this being said, I promised you the close up images of some woven lanyard samples so here we go! I have added  a second image of each lanyard, showing the front and the negative backside of some of the lanyards as well, hoping that you get a good understanding of what exactly I am talking about.
